I’m Mel. I live in New York City / New Jersey, where I code the future.

I’ve loved making things for as long as I can remember, and broke my first gateway computer my parents bought when I was 5. I’ve been building ever since.

The only thing I loved more than computers as a kid was math. My parents use to tell family that I could count money before I could speak. which is probably why I started to purchase stocks as soon as I turn 18. My first stock I ever bought was AAPL and I’m still holding it today.

What have I been up to lately? I’m currently working at Transfix as a Software Engineer. I work on the carrier side of the business and help build tools to help them manage booking loads, onboarding, tracking, and much more. I also mentor at Thinkful(Chegg) helping students learn the fundamentals of web development.

Some technologies I’ve been working with recently include React, TypeScript, Node, GraphQL, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. I also have been teaching myself iOS Development and really enjoy it. Maybe I might take a dive and work on mobile one day.
